Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Vice President for Financial Markets Department (FMD) Paris to join our team.
This role supports, manages and controls the operations of FMD Paris business both in Banking and Customer Sales area. The Banking and Customer sales dealers in FMD Paris handles numbers of transactions daily. This role involves supporting their operations by collaborating with Planning group in FMD London on business management and business control.
Essentials of the role:
- To prepare the strategy, business plan, and basic policy of its management in FMD Paris both in Banking and Customer sales area.
- To monitor and contribute to the implementation of the business plan for profits, personnel and non-personnel expenses, taxes, investment in equipment and premises of FMD.
- To plan and implement new services, products, and measures to strengthen business in FMD.
Candidate requirements:
- Functional knowledge of Money Market and Foreign Exchange products, relevant operations and procedure, rules and regulations established by the relevant authorities.
- Skills of rationalising work procedure and improving work efficiency.
- English language skill, fluent verbal and written.
Business Area
FMD Paris manages Paris branch's liquidity and executes customer FX and deposit transactions.
We have recently established a new position for business management and business control of FMD Paris and currently recruiting for it.
Position Description
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- To prepare the strategy, business plan, including medium to long-term business structure, and basic policy of its management in FMD Paris both in Banking and Customer sales area.
- To monitor and contribute to the implementation of the business plan for profits, personnel and non-personnel expenses, taxes, investment in equipment and premises of FMD.
- To plan and implement new services, products, and measures to strengthen business in FMD.
- To organise an efficient treasury business operation within FMD, and further ensure its improvement.
- To manage counter party assessments such as KYC, and TPRM, market and liquidity risk limits, accounting, legal and compliance matters, expenses, and general affairs of FMD.
- Identify the training and development needs in FMD Paris and ensure that staffs are adequately skilled to undertake the business requirements of the Bank.
- To participate in meetings held in FMD and discuss topic of business management and business controls.
- As a member of FMD Paris, to support and co-work with other members of FMD Paris in doing daily jobs and handling treasury related matters.
- As a member of FMD Paris, to explain to the members of SMBC BI Paris branch FMD’s business strategies and procedures where necessary, including presentations in the Paris Local Management Committee.
- To comply with all regulatory and internal policies and procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
- To conduct any activities, including but not limited to, handling and/or cooperating internal and/or external inspections and/or audits to enhance the 1st line of defence. (to do any activities to improve the 1st line of defence e.g. self-inspection).
- To engage in the activities stipulated in the Service Level Agreements as per the discretion of the line manager. (to cover any activities set out in the SLAs)
- Engage in FMD-related items in the Paris branch transfer project.
