Role Summary

Purpose of the Job 

Operational subject matter expert in loan, trade and derivative documentation with overall supervisory responsibility for the day to day operations of the team.  Proactively providing support to all EMEA Front Office business departments for the efficient execution and control of new transaction covering loan, derivative and trade finance products. Including the review of contractual documentation and subsequent booking in operational systems.

To ensure lending documentation is consistent with key terms and conditions of credit applications and all pre and post conditions are satisfied accordingly. Where required, identify and refer any new products or processes for review of New Products and Processes committee.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Excellent experience in a financial services environment with exposure to syndicated loan markets
  • Comprehensive knowledge of loan, trade and derivative documentation, including the working mechanics of the credit approval process.
  • An excellent understanding of standard Loan Market Association documentation.
  • Previous experience in managing / supervising staff, providing day to day guidance and structured development plans.
  • An excellent working knowledge of the business conducted by the Bank, including an understanding of the individual marketing Departments.
  • An excellent understanding of key risks and associated control points in the transaction lifecycle.
  • Well organised, self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Business Area

Execution, Distribution and Limit Control Middle, is the Central control function within OAD supporting Front Office across EMEA with on-boarding new credit limits, reviewing lending documentation and ensuring key terms and conditions of the credit application are aligned to the contractual documentation being offered to our customers.

Position Description

Role Details

The function of this role is to act as Team Leader of the Execution Control team and to deputise for the Team Manager.  Responsible for the direct management of 5/6 members of the Team.

This role proactively provides support to all EMEA Front Office business departments for the efficient execution and control of new business related transactions in relation to loans, derivative and trade finance products, this includes attending Front Office pipeline meetings to track the progress of deals, any strategy changes which may affect Execution Distribution & Limit Control (EDLC) and attend any ad hoc meetings to discuss EDLCs requirements. 

Mentoring of staff and development of individual talent for the wider benefit of the firm, constructively challenge and influence change to enhance business performance, provide subject matter expertise in all aspects of their role. 

Provide comprehensive oversight of the Execution Team when performing pre-execution operational review and approval of all lending documentation, ensuring product meets guidelines for systematic and operational booking requirements.

The role provides day to day workflow management of EDLC’s key systems such as CCR, GBR and Loan IQ, ensuring that all work is completed within the expected timeframe.

Provide guidance to the Execution Team to ensure priority is given to tight deadlines and ensure deals are registered in sufficient time with subsequent advice to relevant OAD parties.

Review and approve GBR Terms and Conditions of credit application against lending documentation to ensure lending documentation and credit terms are aligned, avoiding any breaches.

Review and approval of Conditions Precedent are satisfied prior to funding and drawdown

Collaborate with other OAD teams and Front Office to ensure all operational matters are discussed where necessary and duly documented.
