Credit Review Analyst

Establish a Credit Application Function in London to process the expansion of the sales and trading teams in SMBC Bank International
- Responsible for preparing and processing credit applications.
- Responsible for creating Management Information including Key Performance Indicators on Credit Applications
For you to succeed in the role, you’ll need to have:
- Establish the Credit Application function in London to cover S&T Vertical.
- Prepare Credit Applications: Conduct financial analysis of applicants and acquire all necessary information that would be required for the credit application.
What will you bring to the role?
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis or a related financial field preferably including hedge funds
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, precise information handling, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial analysis.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of credit risk assessment and financial statement analysis.
About This Role
The Credit Application Officer plays a crucial role in the credit application process, ensuring that all credit applications are prepared properly, prioritisation aligned with the relative urgency of the business, and well processed by all related groups that handle credit applications including but not limited to Credit team in London/NY/Tokyo.
This role supports the S&T Vertical's objective of expanding credit risk associated businesses while maintaining a high-quality credit portfolio and mitigating risk.
Position Description
- Establish the Credit Application function in London to cover S&T Vertical.
- Prepare Credit Applications: Conduct financial analysis of applicants and acquire all necessary information that would be required for the credit application.
- Tracking Records: Keep track of and maintain accurate records of processes including all decisions and issues regarding all credit applications.
- Handle Credit Renewals: Review and analyse existing counterparties of their credit limit and their corporate credit conditions to determine the creditworthiness of the target. Communicate with trading desks to balance the credit limits needs from the businesses and the credit risk of facing the counterparties
