VP, Corporate Solutions, Risk Solutions Group

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a VP to join our Paris-based Corporate Solutions desk, part of the EMEA Risk Solutions Group. 

This is a client‑facing role focused on the origination, structuring and execution of interest rate derivative solutions for our French‑speaking corporate clients, working closely with relationship managers and product partners across the wider SMBC Group. As a seconday task, the candidate will also support the build-out of the FIG Solutions business in Europe

The role provides meaningful autonomy and exposure across the full transaction lifecycle, with direct responsibility for revenue generation, client coverage and cross‑product collaboration.

Business Area

The EMEA Risk Solutions Group provides tailored risk management solutions to our clients across interest rate and structured hedging products. The Paris team plays a key role in covering France and Belgium, working closely with colleagues in London, Frankfurt and New York to deliver integrated solutions across DCM, project finance, wider lending and treasury products.

Responsibilities

  • Originate, market and execute interest rate derivative transactions, primarily interest rate swaps and associated hedging strategies
  • Partner with Relationship Managers to assess client needs, suitability and risk profile, and convert hedging discussions into executed transactions
  • Prepare client presentations, marketing materials, trade ideas and call reports
  • Price and structure transactions using internal pricing, credit simulation and xVA frameworks, working closely with trading desks
  • Support credit approvals, including preparation of credit applications and engagement with regional and global credit teams
  • Negotiate and manage ISDA, CSA and related derivative documentation in coordination with Legal and Operations
  • Develop cross‑sell opportunities in collaboration with FX, Treasury, DCM and structured products teams

What will you bring to the role?

  • Proven front‑office experience in interest rate derivatives sales within a global investment or universal bank
  • Strong understanding of derivative pricing, valuation and risk, including discounting, exposure modelling and xVA (CVA/FVA/IM/KVA)
  • Experience working with corporate clients, treasurers and project sponsors on hedging and risk management solutions
  • Track record on executing bond issuance related hedging transactions, including hedge coordinations and spread locks
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to build long‑term client relationships and originate revenue
  • Solid knowledge of derivative documentation (ISDA, CSA) and regulatory frameworks (MiFID, Dodd‑Frank)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence in engaging senior internal and external counterparts
  • High level of autonomy, attention to detail and resilience in a fast‑moving front‑office environment
  • Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Fluent French and English required
