Role Summary
• The implementation of this Trade Support function will centralize a necessary operational role within the department Fixed Income and Front Office team in terms of processing support within trading related queries across SMBC Bank EU AG as well as preparing key financial reconciliations for management and reporting.
• The function will combine product and operational knowledge and Day-to-Day BAU functions for pre-trade processing, reporting and processing of trades as well as booking activities in TOMS, ION/Anvil, providing internal information and updates
• The role will be first point of contact for operational and control issues in relation to pending transactions.
• The role will provide testing support for projects related to improving reporting and streamlining processes.
Position Description
Key Responsibilities:
• Pre-Trade Execution tasks such as creation of client records, mapping, enablement, etc…
• Sales Quality data updates
• STP Exception Management
• Liaison with Back Office Operations
• Identification of potential issues / events that could affect budget or transaction.
• Escalate issues to appropriate parties and drive resolution
• Work closely with business delivery to inform in regards of operational changes, maximising efficiency and minimizing disruption
• Remote Booking oversight and controls
• SMBC Bank EU AG EOD Reportings
• Trader Mandate oversight and controls
• Providing testing support/acting as department representative where required for new and ongoing projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL:
• Good understanding of trade processing tasks
• Excellent degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Customer-focused, with understanding of the importance of excellent customer service.
• Strong communication skills
• Demonstrates a flexible approach and is results-driven
• Ability to work collaboratively with other team members in providing support, sharing information and knowledge
• Control Awareness (able to prioritise and escalate at the right time)
• Very good / fluent knowledge of the English language in order to communicate with the different departments and counter parties
DESIRABLE:
• Financially aware with an accounting qualification
• Sound knowledge of trade lifecycle processes
• Advanced Risk awareness and good time management skills
• Operational experience in a fund management business
