In EMEA, the Export and Development Solutions Team has developed extensive experience in advising and arranging Export Credit Agency (“ECA”), Development Finance Institutions (“DFI”) and Multilateral Agencies (“MLA”) supported solutions to bring optimised funding solutions for our customers.

The Front Office EDS team, which comprises 12 professionals across Paris, London and Milan, is looking for a new VP on a temporary basis.

Purpose

  • The role of VP exists to provide support marketing activities, origination of new business, execution and life of deal management of EDS transactions in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain and any other assigned EMEA market by developing customized financing structures that fit into the bank’s risk framework, managing existing transactions, including ECA Agent roles, to the satisfaction of all stakeholders and support the decision making process of senior colleagues and management by preparing any reporting that may be required.
  • Cover outbound EDS transactions (exporters and Export Credit Agencies from France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain) as well as buyer market coverage for any ECAs inbound EDS transactions with clients mainly in EU market.
  • Be responsible for relationship including portfolio management with ECAs, Multilateral Agencies (MLA) and Development Institutions located in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain.
  • The role requires strong analytical skills and will involve the review and analysis of information including customer financial statements, financial models, due diligence and legal documentation.
  • The role also requires strong communication skills as there will be various interfaces both within the organisation (Credit, Syndications, Operations etc) as well as externally including some client facing dealing (such as KYC etc).
  • Origination and execution of new EDS transactions
  • Preparation of credit applications and associated administration work
  • Support of distribution activities within the bank’s overall O&D programme

Role

  • The role sits within the EDS team, reporting into the Paris based Director.
  • Generally this role would be working with Director/Senior Director level employees proactively contributing to and running transactions with and for them with high levels of autonomy.  The role includes both analysis and administration tasks and taking personal control of smaller individual transactions or significant elements of larger/more complex transactions – including running some transactions and activities independently.
  • This role will be accountable for the management of the assigned portion of the existing portfolio which is as important as generating new business.
  • There is a significant customer facing element to the role, including gathering information (KYC, DD etc) and attending customer meetings, marketing and transaction execution. The role is expected to have its own network of customers, advisors and other industry players.
  • Work with the team across all activities including preparation of client marketing materials, transaction summaries, proposals and term sheets, credit applications and all execution procedures.
  • Interface with relevant colleagues within SFDand with other departments including Legal, Compliance, Loan Capital Markets, Agency, Credit, CBD1/2, GTFD,Tokyo SFD, Nikko CM, CRID and other departments across other regions and geographies as necessary and applicable to individual transactions.
  • The role manages existing portfolio of BPIAE, Credendo, ODL and CESCE transactions where EDS Paris is responsible as ECA agent.
  • Interface with external counterparties including borrowers, lawyers and other professional advisors, guarantors and other financial institutions.
  • These interfaces will occur largely on a transaction specific basis whilst working as part of a deal team. In addition there will be times when these consultations will be related to broader strategy and policy matters, i.e. not transaction specific.
