Role Summary

Joining the DCM team in Paris will be an opportunity for you to work with other capital market teams and get insights in other perks of investment banking

• Support the DCM team in all aspects of deal coverage, origination and execution.
• Prepare pitch books and presentations for client meetings and organise internal database 
• Support DCM team with pricing and valuation of bonds and hybrid bonds
• Research and generate ideas for macro and credit market material for client presentations
• Coordinate and work in conjunction with different departments across Europe, US, Asia

 6-month period starting in July 2025

Business Area

Within SMBC’s Capital Markets Department, the DCM team focuses on supporting debt issuance for European clients by offering value-added debt solutions. The department operates from several cities around the world including Paris, London, Frankfurt, New York, and Tokyo. The Paris office is part of a global DCM operation and accordingly works closely with other teams, leveraging off each other. The team is covering France, and other French-speaking areas, Nordics and Southern Europe corporates. 

Position Description

• Relevant Degree educated or equivalent
• Interest in financial markets
• Fluent in English and French 

• Good knowledge of Fixed Income Market key drivers
• Proficiency in MS Office tools 
• Analytical skills 
• Ability to work under tight deadlines 
• Ability to take initiatives 
• Curious and self-motivated
• Ability to interact with colleagues
