Role Summary

We’re looking for an Operations Business Support Specialist to join our Operations – OAD team based in Paris.
This role offers hands‑on exposure across a broad range of operational and administrative activities in a fast‑growing EMEA environment. You will work closely with local and regional stakeholders while contributing to the smooth day‑to‑day functioning of the Paris office.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Providing operational and administrative support, including invoice, expense and supplier management
- Supporting facilities, mail services, archiving, audit confirmations and internal reconciliations
- Acting as a key support function for business users and internal stakeholders across Operations
For you to succeed in the role, you’ll need to have:
- Experience in administrative or operational support, including invoice or order processing
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and risk awareness
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); French required for local stakeholder interaction
Position Description
About this role
This role has been created to support the continued growth of SMBC EU Paris, a dynamic and expanding entity with increasing headcount, multiple sites and developing activities. The position plays a key role in strengthening operational efficiency, administration support and service delivery across the Paris office.
Our role will enable you to:
- Ensuring that all operational aspects of the role are performed in an accurate, efficient and timely manner by the respective team
- Main internal relationships within Operations team and key business partners but also, with Front Officers, Finance and Control and teams across EMEA
- Main external relationships would be with suppliers, storage providers and vendors
- Ensuring swift escalation of any operational issues requiring management and attention
What will you bring to the role?

Knowledge and understanding of accounting invoice processing

Experience in administrative activities such as order management, archiving and facilities support

Ability to manage fluctuating workloads, prioritise tasks and work accurately in a busy environment

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Fluency in English, both oral and written
Desirable:

Experience working in a banking or financial services environment

Prior exposure to audit support, suspense account reconciliation or service level monitoring
