Role Summary
- Repo trading capability has recently been established in SMBC Bank EU, the European hub for SMFG
- This role is part of the EMEA Securities Finance Group focused on the build out of our client base within Bank EU
- The Role holder assists the desk to develop the range of business we do with clients and work with the team to hit ambitious revenue targets.
Business Area
- Repo/Financing has been identified as a key growth area for SMBC BI globally. The business has grown significantly and there are plans to broaden the scope further
- The business is well aligned with the broader SMFG strategy to increase ROE
Position Description
- Act as FO point of contact for onboarding new clients and liaise with the relevant teams in this process.
- To keep self-informed of the relevant regulatory, legal and compliance guidelines to ensure the overall business is operating at high levels in a compliant manner and within pre-approved limits (Credit line monitoring for all Repo/Reverse Repo daily).
- Onboard counterparties, build relevant relationships for EU to enter Repo/financing transaction & drive new business initiatives forward on behalf of repo desk.
- Help to deliver more structured transactions as the product capability develops
- Minimum 5yrs relevant experience
