Section 2 – Purpose of Job

Support Head in Design, Implementation and Robust Capital Assessment Process

  • The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the Head in all aspects of annual ICAAP/ ICARA to include ensuring source information is assigned/ completed with coaching and training as necessary to enable production of BAU/ adhoc capital assessments with all required information to allow analysis of key drivers.
  • Produce and maintain clear instructive procedures of all key underlying processes on ongoing (at least annual) basis.
  • Involvement and supporting role in implementation of stress capital measures – this will include input to and supporting the design and calibration of capital risk appetite.
  • Supporting the Head with direct involvement in the coordination and compilation of core regulatory documentation including ICAAP, ICARA
  • The role will be accountable for generating regular updates for Committees (including ERMC/RMSC) and to senior management in a simplified yet informative manner (e.g., with visual aids etc.).
  • Supporting the Head in running a variety of Pillar 2A calculations (including for example the newly migrated concentration risk assessments using internal and regulatory methods)
  • Draft and review relevant risk related policy/procedural documentation
  • Assisting with Tracking Changes: the incumbent will support the Head by assisting with other key and relevant processes for example with relevant regulatory announcements and provide management with an update on the Bank’s status to comply with these on a regular basis.
  • Policy framework ownership – maintain log of owned framework document and update periodically (annually at least)

 

 

 

Section 3 – Background

This role is primarily responsible for assisting the Head with Capital Assessments through a variety of BAU and annual assessment processes and is a key role in the Enterprise Risk Management team. The organisation is undergoing significant change and transition and a number of underlying processes may require redesign.

 

The role will require significant building strong working relationships across a variety of Risk / Finance / Planning and other Teams to ensure process enhancement in a collegiate manner.  

 

 

 

 

 

Section 4 – Facts / Scale

  • This role has no direct reports.
  • Main interfaces/relationships:
    • In addition to reporting to the Director,ERM this role holder will be required to provide updates to RMD senior management including MD of Credit Portfolio and Policy and Enterprise Risk.
    • Interaction with other senior members such as GMs of RMD, individual functional teams on specific in UK and EMEA.

 

 

 

 

Section 5 – Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  1. Support the Head by assisting in the production of BAU and ad hoc capital assessments (including annual ICAAP and ICARA) for BI and CM Ltd.
    • Providing practical hands-on assistance Head and other team members
    • Assisting in the production of capital ratios (base and stress) and regular assessments (e.g. tracking key P2A risks on a quarterly basis)
    • Assisting with preparation for regulatory visits such as SREP (e.g., agenda planning, production of materials, summaries etc).
    • Enhancing / providing input into the Capital risk appetite

 

  1. Assist in the design of robust end to end processes with documentation / continuous evolution.
  2. Support the Stress Scenario construction including input with parameters.
  3. Assisting with interpreting and implementing new regulatory requirements (as relevant for RMD) and tracking progress
  4. Assistance with RRP

 

 

 

 

Section 6 – Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • This is a hands-on role which requires experience of developing high quality reports in an efficient and scalable manner using standard Microsoft packages Word / Excel / PowerPoint and proficient with preparing charts / tables / presentations. Coding experience is considered a distinct advantage. 
  • Adept at managing multiple production tasks and managing workload during peak / seasonal periods.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to senior management.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and collaboration and demonstrable track record in stakeholder management.
  • Numerical proficiency
  • Desirable: automation skills (e.g., using VBA);
  • Ability to prepare key reports in a presentable format and can identify / manifest streamlining opportunities.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Culturally aware
  • Must be motivated and be a team player with a strong sense of responsibility
