We’re looking for an Assistant Marketing Officer (Assistant Vice President) for our Business Promotion Department (BPD/CBDE2) to join our team in Madrid!
Join a dynamic team driving SMBC’s corporate banking growth in Spain and Portugal. This role offers exposure to international clients and collaboration across global business lines.
Business Area
This role supports SMBC EU Madrid branch in promoting corporate banking business across Spain and Portugal, ensuring compliance and contributing to revenue growth through client engagement and transaction support.
Position Description
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Supporting marketing initiatives and client engagement for Iberian large corporates.
- Assisting in credit applications and transaction processes to ensure compliance.
- Maintaining client relationships and performing KYC/AML checks.
Our role will enable you to: Work closely with senior relationship managers, product partners, and control functions across SMBC’s global network, while building relationships with large Iberian corporates.
For you to succeed in the role, you’ll need to have:
- 2–3 years’ experience in corporate banking or marketing bank products to large corporates.
- Strong credit analysis skills and proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
What will you bring to the role?
- 2–3 years’ experience in corporate banking or financial services
- Knowledge of credit analysis, financial reporting, and standard documentation
- Strong MS Office skills and ability to work under pressure
- Desirable:
- Familiarity with internal banking systems
- Understanding of compliance principles and regulatory requirements
