Role Summary

The Client Services & Reporting Writer role sits within the Client Services & Reporting team and supports both client acquisition and ongoing client engagement across EMEA.

The Client Services & Reporting Writer supports commercial growth across EMEA by delivering high‑quality, accurate, and persuasive written materials for institutional clients, prospects, and consultants, alongside clear and insightful institutional client reporting. The role requires written communication skills, strong data oriented mindset, extracting and analysing information from systems and spreadsheets to deliver accurate, compliant, and client ready outputs.

Draft, coordinate, and quality assure RFP, RFI, and DDQ responses using a centralised content library

Extract, analyse, and validate quantitative and qualitative data from internal systems and spreadsheets to support client reporting and disclosures

Leverage AI and technology to enhance data analysis, content quality, and process efficiency

 

Strong experience in asset management RFP writing with strong data handling and analytical capability

Solid understanding of investment products (equities, fixed income, alternatives) and ESG considerations

Advanced proficiency in RFP systems (e.g. RocketDocs), Microsoft Excel and Word, with excellent organisational skills

Business Area

The Client Services & Reporting team at SMDAM (UK) is a core business development function, partnering closely with Sales and internal teams to support institutional client acquisition and retention. The team develops precise, investment led materials, including RFP content, client reporting, and content generation, that clearly articulate SMDAM’s strategies, research strengths, and value proposition, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and rigour across all client communications in a highly regulated, institutional environment.

Position Description

The Client Services & Reporting team plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s commercial growth by delivering high‑quality, compelling client communications that directly support fundraising, client retention, and consultant engagement. The team is responsible for responding to questionnaires from existing and prospective clients, consultants, and platforms, and for producing EMEA‑based institutional client reporting that underpins sales, relationship management, and distribution activity.

Role Overview

The Writer is a key commercial partner to Sales and Relationship Management teams, responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of high‑impact responses to multi‑product Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs). The role focuses on positioning the firm’s investment capabilities clearly and persuasively, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness while supporting asset gathering across London and German sales channels.

Success in this role directly contributes to winning new mandates, retaining existing clients, and strengthening consultant ratings, by translating complex investment information into clear, client‑centric messaging aligned to the firm’s strategic narrative.

The team manages a centralised content library via RocketDocs, enabling automation, consistency, tracking, and insight into sales activity. The Writer also supports completion of industry surveys and maintenance of consultant databases to maximise distribution visibility.

Client Reporting

In addition to questionnaire delivery, the Writer produces recurring and bespoke institutional client reports, including SICAV UCITS, regulatory, and ad hoc sales‑driven materials. This requires a strong analytical mindset, with emphasis on turning data into insights that support client conversations, renewal discussions, and pipeline development. Outputs frequently support client review meetings, due‑diligence follow‑ups, and pre‑sales engagement.

Technology & AI Enablement

The role will look to actively leverages AI and technology to increase commercial efficiency and responsiveness, including:

Using AI tools to draft client‑ready content, summarise data, and accelerate response times

Applying automation to reduce manual effort and improve scalability of sales support

Analysing data with AI to create tailored client talking points and pre‑meeting briefings

Stakeholder Engagement

The Writer works closely with Sales, Marketing, Portfolio Management, Product Specialists, senior subject‑matter experts, and Legal & Compliance teams to ensure all content supports commercial objectives, aligns with approved messaging, and meets the expectations of a sophisticated institutional audience. The environment is fast‑paced and deadline‑driven, requiring resilience, accountability, and commercial judgement.
