Role Summary

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Fixed Income Securities Finance Business Manager - Vice President for our Global Markets Department, Securities Finance Group to join our team. 

The role’s responsibility is to partake a crucial role in Business Management team in Securities Finance under rapidly growing business with numbers of initiatives underway. It should own the desk-level roadmap of all the initiatives and well coordinate with the line manager in Business Management team and heads of Securities Finance Group to support the group achieve its revenue and profit goals.

Business Area

Fixed Income Securities Finance within Sales and Trading that mainly conducts repo transactions. More to expand in outright trading products, lending products, and swaps.

Position Description

This is a VP level position within the EMEA Securities Financing Group (SFG) reporting to the SFG business manager.

Role Essentials

•    Support the definition and execution of the product roadmap, aligned to the overall S&T strategy.
•    Collaborate with global teams and business partners to ensure alignment and effective delivery.
•    Champion efficiency of Securities Financing products through driving sustainability and operational efficiency across the combined technology estate.
•    Engage confidently with senior management, providing clear, structured updates on priorities, progress, and delivery.

Ideally the candidate requires

•    Strong understanding of repo and securities lending products, market structure, regulatory frameworks, trading technologies, and key industry vendors.
•    Proven experience developing and maintaining multi year product roadmaps, crafting robust business cases and socialising product vision with senior stakeholders.
•    Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Technology, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance and other control functions to shape solutions, manage constraints and deliver to market.
•    Ability to translate trading desk requirements into clear technology deliverables and influence cross functional teams.
