Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on Reporting Practice Lead to drive the delivery of our strategic reporting and analytics platforms across our EMEA division. This role is critical in enabling front-office, risk, compliance, and operations teams to make data-driven decisions with speed and confidence. You will be a hands on lead of a team of delivery resources and BI developers, within a wider data and analytics platforms team, ensuring the timely execution of complex reporting initiatives in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in robust enterprise delivery of reporting / data visualisation platforms, project management, and leadership skills to drive the team towards achieving strategic objectives. They should be curious about the technology and design of the reporting platforms as well as how the delivery team operate.
The role will include the following.
- Understanding of business requirements and translation to flexible and robust designs for delivery.
- Determining the scope of projects.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of solutions.
- Aligning the implementation of the reporting solutions to the agreed strategy of the data and analytics platform.
- Collaborating with stakeholders in EMEA Data & Analytics Platforms and outside including the rest of IT, Data Office Team, colleagues in the US, and other EMEA business stakeholders.
- Put in place long term solutions for the ongoing maintenance and support.
- Line management of the team including objective setting.
Responsibilities
Strategic & Technical Leadership
- Define, design and implement the analytics and reporting standards, frameworks and practices for the EMEA Data & Analytics Platforms.
- Act as the technical design authority for analytics and reporting solutions, providing hands-on guidance in presentation layer tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Databricks AI/BI) and SQL-based data modelling.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across delivery squads and different business domains to translate business needs into technical scalable reporting solutions.
- Deliver new reporting capabilities within the EMEA Data & Analytics Platforms team that meet the requirements of business initiatives as prioritised by the Transformation Committee and projects outside.
- Drive the end-to-end delivery of reporting projects, translating business and regulatory requirements into engineered reporting solutions and ensuring alignment with Agile delivery practices and tight regulatory timelines (e.g., BCBS 239, MiFID II, FRTB).
- Lead the building of transformative/production grade dashboards, KPIs, and operational reports that support real-time and batch analytics across front-to-back processes.
- Ensure integration with enterprise data platforms (Databricks) and data warehouses.
- Deliver system performance improvements, identify bottlenecks, and optimize data processing workflows for improved efficiency and scalability.
Practice Leadership & Governance
- Guide and mentor a team of BI developers and analysts across multiple geographies inside differing delivery squads.
- Establish and enforce best practices for reporting development, testing, deployment, and change control. Including adherence to internal controls, data privacy, and regulatory reporting standards.
- Identify risks and issues proactively and implement mitigation strategies to minimise project disruptions.
Experience
Essential
- Experience in analytics and reporting within corporate investment banking or capital markets.
- Proven track record of delivering regulatory and operational reporting solutions in a complex, high-volume environment.
- Deep expertise in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Databricks AI/BI) and strong SQL/data modelling skills.
- Solid understanding of investment banking and corporate banking products (e.g., derivatives, fixed income, loans) and trade lifecycle.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, GCP) and modern data architectures.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
- DevSecOps for reporting / visualisation platforms and the managing of confidential/sensitive data/reporting.
- Extensive experience in database management systems for modelling and extraction of data for reporting purposes (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- Exceptional communication skills to explain and gain buy in for standards and designs from other analyst developers in the team and other stakeholders.
- Collaborative and curious practices to develop strong well thought through solutions.
- Curiosity to learn new ways of delivering solutions and openness to new designs or other people’s ideas. A focus on continuous improvement.
Desirable
- Experience with regulatory reporting frameworks (e.g., BCBS 239, Basel III, MiFID II, FRTB).
- Familiarity with data lineage, metadata management, and data quality tools.
- Certifications in Agile, PMP, or BI platforms.
- Experience working with global teams in a matrixed environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
