Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for an AVP for our Derivatives Marketing Department.
The role is to provide general support to more senior marketers as well as managing day to day client relationships, meeting and engaging with the clients. The client coverage includes but not limited to CEEMEA region. Day-to-day job will include deal pricing, analysis and generation of trade ideas, preparation of credit applications, reviews of legal & compliance documents, preparation of client marketing materials, market updates.
Business Area
RSG team is located on private side and is responsible for Marketing risk hedging solutions to SMBC clients in the EMEA region.
Approved Persons must at all times, adhere to the minimum standards for becoming and remaining an Approved Person. These standards include honesty, integrity, competence, capability, financial soundness and upholding a reputation which does not risk any adverse impact upon the Company. Approved Persons must operate at all times in accordance with the Statement of Principles for Approved Persons and the associated Code of Practice.
Key Stakeholders include other Groups within the Capital Markets Group both Front-Office & Middle/Back Office. Officers of SMBC & its Affiliates.
The role doesn’t have an individual annual revenue budget but is set to support team’s budget achievement.
Position Description
Client Engagement:
Preparation of client materials
Support senior team members to discuss hedging, markets, ideas & strategies with clients; including Project Advisors, Corporate Treasurers & other senior Bankers
Support marketers with providing information to clients on SMFG products and services
Managing client relationships, meeting and engaging with the clients
Deal Pricing & Execution:
Modelling & pricing of trades using SMBC CM's in-house swap pricing, credit simulation & XVA models
Preparation of indicative prices for clients (including surveys)
Assisting senior marketers on execution with subsequent independent execution of the derivatives transactions for clients in EMEA
Credit:
Preparation of Credit Applications for submission to the Banks Credit Departments
Handling enquiries of Credit Groups within SMBC CM & the Bank
Understanding of both SMBC CM's & the Banks Credit monitoring systems

Legal & Documentation:
Liaison with SMBC CM & the Bank's Legal Groups to negotiate derivatives documentation
KYC & Compliance:
Understanding of UK, European & US KYC & Compliance issues
Interact with SMBC CM & the Bank's Compliance Groups
Assist more senior marketers with onboarding and periodic reviews of the clients
Administration & Reporting:
Some administrative work including reporting of activity & results
Putting together call reports
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to analyse highly complex financial data and large volumes of information and derive the best possible solution.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and follow a sound and rational decision-making process.
Demonstrates a flexible approach and is results-driven.
A degree of flexibility is expected in working the hours that the business demands.
Ability to work collaboratively with other team members in providing support and sharing information and knowledge.
Excellent degree of accuracy and attention to detail
