We’re looking for an Associate for our Commodity & Energy Sector team to join our London office. This role supports Relationship Managers in managing client portfolios and executing corporate finance transactions.
Essentials of the Role
- Assist in origination and execution of corporate finance deals
- Coordinate with product partners and internal teams
- Prepare client pitches, presentations, and pipeline reports
Candidate Requirements
- Strong financial analysis and attention to detail
- Understanding of banking products and services
- Professional qualifications (CFA or AMCT) preferred
Business Area
CBD2 – Commodity & Energy Sector Team within SMBC EMEA Corporate Banking Division.
The team manages high-profile client relationships across the energy and commodity value chain, supporting origination and execution of corporate finance transactions and cross-selling banking products.
Position Description
Provide day-to-day support to Relationship Managers in managing a portfolio of clients within the Commodity & Energy Sector. Responsibilities include preparing client pitches and presentations, managing pipeline tracking and income reporting, and assisting with deal execution. The role requires coordination with internal teams such as credit risk, compliance, and product partners to deliver integrated corporate finance solutions. You will also support account planning, cross-sell strategies, and ensure adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
