Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Senior VP / Director to join our Subscription Finance team.
Responsible for origination, structuring, negotiation, execution and ongoing management of EMEA Subscription Finance transactions along with associated fund level products such as hybrid fund financing, FX & Derivatives.
Communication - Strong communication and relationship building skills. Ability to work proactively as a team player within the Dept and across the Bank with limited supervision
Execution – Strong technical knowledge, expertise and experience in the Fund Finance market. Capable of managing closing processes, liaising with multiple internal/external stakeholders and problem solving. Ability to build strong internal networks across relevant departments
Credit - Strong credit risk, quantitative / numerical skills and experience with standard transaction legal documentation. Capable of providing and presenting credit and commercial rationale to key stakeholders.
Business Area
The team locally sits within the EMEA Specialised Products Dept which houses Leverage Finance, Structured Real Estate Finance, Subscription Finance and NAV Finance teams.
The Subscription Finance team is also part of SMBC's Global Fund Finance Solutions team, with core centralised functions led out of New York and thefore the EMEA team works closely with both our US and APAC Fund Finance Solutions colleagues to service global clients cross-regionally.
Position Description
- Key team member reporting to Managing Director, Subscription Finance EMEA.
- Responsible for origination, structuring, negotiation, execution and ongoing management of EMEA subscription finance transactions.
- Working alongside a successful, well established and growing team to origination and arrange new business opportunities
- To drive both business growth and deepen SMBC's Sponsor client relationships.
- Develop the EMEA Subscription and related fund level business activities with responsibility for transactions, process and strategic initiatives.
- Act as deal team leader including the supervision of junior team members.
- Develop and maintain strong client and cross-departmental relationships to identify and execute new business opportunities.
- Identify and address any risk management aspects in the portfolio and report key developments in a timely manner.
