Role Summary

 

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Business Analyst for Operations to join our team. 

  • This role will work together in partnership with Operations Management ensuring regular management information and reporting framework is robust and maintained.
  • The individual will work with Operations Section Heads on various initiatives including gathering business requirements for project / system changes.  Working with IT stakeholders to confirm that the business requirements have sufficient detail to be translated into functional requirements.
  • The individual will ensure that process flows for Important Business Services are defined for the Operations department, focusing on areas that involve hand-offs between departments such as Front Office, Treasury, Risk, Finance and Regulatory Reporting and working with the Control Office to document and minimise risks.
  • The individual should have experience in Operations transformation or change programmes in one or more of the following areas –
    • Target operating model design
    • Process flow mapping
    • Business requirements gathering
    • Management information documentation
  • The individual must have a good knowledge and understanding of banking products and end to end processes in a trade lifecycle.
  • The individual must have experience in conducting workshops with senior stakeholders

Reporting & Insights

  • Create and maintain operations management information dashboards.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership to support data-driven decisions.

Process flow mapping

  • Develop as-in process flows for Operations areas, utilising existing material where possible.
  • Conduct workshops with Operations SMEs to document the to-be process flow for key products.

Business Analysis

  • Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop process maps, workflows, and documentation to support operational changes.
  • Conduct gap analyses and root cause investigations to support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement system or process enhancements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a liaison between business units and service providers.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to support change management.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams to understand evolving business needs.

New Products Support

  • Support operations group heads documenting New Product workflows to identify scalable and efficient solutions
  • Work with IT stakeholders to ensure that the requirements gathered are of sufficient detail to be translated into functional requirements by IT.
