Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Delivery
- Act as a product analyst for operational risk systems, supporting roadmap definition, enhancements, and end‑to‑end delivery cycles.
- Translate complex regulatory and business requirements into clear user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with technology teams to drive solution design, testing, and implementation.
Regulatory Alignment (ECB Experience)
- Ensure operational risk frameworks, processes, and system functionality comply with ECB regulations, including SSM expectations on risk taxonomy, RCSA, issue/event management, scenario analysis, and ICAAP/OR capital.
- Support regulatory remediation initiatives, horizontal reviews, and responses to ECB supervisory findings.
- Execute gap analyses and control enhancements to ensure compliance with ECB thematic reviews and JST requests.
Operational Risk Expertise
- Contribute to enhancements in operational risk frameworks across RCSA, KRIs, loss data collection, scenario analysis, and capital modelling.
- Support data quality, lineage, and governance initiatives to ensure high‑integrity operational risk data.
- Partner with 1LOD and 2LOD stakeholders to refine risk processes and improve usability of risk tools.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with Operational Risk, Technology, Compliance, Finance, and Audit partners to ensure alignment and clarity across deliverables.
- Communicate complex regulatory and technical topics in clear, concise business language to senior stakeholders.
- Support training, change management, and rollout activities for new operational risk capabilities.
Purpose of Job
The Operational Risk Product Analyst (AVP) plays a key role in delivering risk technology solutions and ensuring alignment with the European Central Bank’s (ECB) supervisory expectations, particularly within a banking group subject to the SSM framework. This role bridges business requirements, regulatory needs, and technology delivery to enhance the firm’s operational risk management capabilities.
Qualifications
- AVP-level experience in Operational Risk, Risk Technology, or related functions within a regulated financial services institution.
- Strong understanding of ECB/SSM operational risk regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience supporting risk systems or product development (e.g., ConnectedRisk, SAI360, bespoke ORM platforms).
- Analytical problem‑solving skills, strong documentation abilities, and comfort working in agile delivery environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
