Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Vice President for our Trade and Transaction Reporting team. 

This role is responsible for monitoring and analysing regulatory developments across EMEA relating to MiFIR/MiFID II, assessing business impacts, and translating regulatory change into detailed business and technical requirements. The successful candidate will work across Compliance, Operations, Technology and Front Office teams to deliver regulatory change, maintain compliance, reduce risk and improve operational efficiency
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret regulatory changes impacting trade and transaction reporting obligations across EMEA.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and technology teams to define and implement regulatory change requirements. 
  • Produce impact assessments, traceability matrices and technical requirements to support compliance and risk reduction. 

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of trade and transaction reporting regulations (MiFIR/MiFID II)
  • Experience participating in regulatory change initiatives, transformation programmes or systems projects. 
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across business, compliance and technology functions.

Business Area

The Trade and Transaction Reporting team is responsible for ensuring the firm's compliance with regulatory reporting obligations for MiFIR Transaction Reporting and MiFIR Trade Reporting. The team works closely with Compliance, Front Office, Technology and Operations functions to interpret regulatory change, maintain effective reporting controls and oversee the implementation of strategic regulatory initiatives across the EMEA region

Position Description

The Vice President, Trade & Transaction Reporting Operations, plays a key role in monitoring and analysing regulatory communications, regulatory technical standards and market developments affecting reporting obligations across EMEA. The role partners with business subject matter experts, Compliance teams and technology stakeholders to assess regulatory impacts, define business requirements and deliver compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities include maintaining regulatory traceability matrices, completing gap analyses, documenting business and technical requirements, supporting testing and implementation activities, and ensuring appropriate governance throughout the change lifecycle. The individual will communicate complex regulatory requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and may provide updates and recommendations to senior governance forums, including the Trade and Transaction Reporting Reporting Oversight Committee.

This position requires strong analytical capability, a deep understanding of transaction reporting regulations, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate evolving regulatory requirements into practical operational and technology solutions that support compliance, reduce risk and improve efficiency
