Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Trade Support Vice President for our Markets & Securites team.
The Vice President – EMIR Reporting Lead is responsible for end-to-end ownership of EMIR transaction reporting operations within TTR, combining accountability for Business-As-Usual (BAU) delivery and Quality Assurance (QA). The role ensures ongoing regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and effective execution of regulatory change across SMBC entities in scope.

Position Description
Principal Accountabilities
Regulatory Reporting (BAU)
- Own and oversee EMIR transaction reporting across all in-scope entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with EMIR regulatory obligations.
Quality Assurance & Controls
- Own the EMIR QA and control framework, ensuring effective first-line controls, documented procedures, KPIs, KRIs, and evidence of ongoing monitoring.
People Leadership & Management
- Lead and develop the EMIR BAU and QA teams, ensuring appropriate resourcing, cross-training, succession planning, and performance management.
Change Delivery & Testing
- Lead EMIR regulatory change, remediation, and uplift initiatives from requirements definition through UAT, go-live, and post-implementation stabilisation.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as the EMIR subject matter expert across Operations, Compliance, Risk, Legal, IT, and Front Office.
- Manage relationships with Trade Repositories, vendors, and industry utilities, ensuring service quality and issue resolution.
- Represent TTR at governance forums, Reporting Oversight Committees, SteerCos, and industry working groups.
Experience & Qualifications
- Significant experience leading EMIR transaction reporting operations, including BAU delivery and QA/control functions, within an investment bank or equivalent regulated environment.
- Strong working knowledge of EMIR regulation, reporting schemas, lifecycle events, reconciliations, and back-reporting.
- Proven experience delivering regulatory change, remediation programmes, and UAT governance.
- Strong understanding of operational risk management, controls, and regulatory governance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and engage effectively with senior stakeholders and regulators.
Desirable
- Exposure to MiFID II and/or SFTR transaction reporting.
- Experience with vendor reporting platforms, reconciliations, and data quality tooling.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
