Role Summary
We are looking for a Markets & Securities Services Operations Associate to join our OAD Securities Operations team, covering the full trade lifecycle from checking front office bookings through to successful settlement. The role also involves post-settlement activities and improving and automating our workflows.
Key responsibilities
-Check that front office trade bookings are accurate, make sure market settlement instructions are in place, and follow trades through to settlement. Escalate any mismatches or unmatched trades to counterparties or front office.
-Carry out post-settlement duties, including corporate actions, funding transfers, and sweeping funds from custodian accounts to nostro accounts within cut-off times.
-Challenge existing workflows and help deliver improvements, automation, system testing and new product initiatives.
-Strong attention to detail, a disciplined and punctual approach, and adherence to the bank's operational procedures and policies.
-Good Excel skills, with VBA experience an advantage, and a problem-solving mindset that thinks outside the box.
-A team player with strong work ethics and good communication skills.
Business Area
OAD Securities Operations is the back office team for the bank's securities business. We support front office by making sure trades are booked accurately, settled on time and processed correctly after settlement. The team works closely with front office, counterparties, custodians including Euroclear, payments teams and other operations teams across Europe. We play a key role in managing operational risk and improving processes through automation.
Position Description
-Check front office trade bookings for accuracy against trade details and settlement data.
-Make sure the correct market settlement instructions are in place, and monitor trades through to successful settlement.
-Investigate and escalate unmatched or mismatched trades to counterparties or front office, so trades settle on time.
-Carry out post-settlement duties, including corporate actions processing and reconciliations.
-Arrange funding transfers for settlement, and sweep funds from custodian accounts to nostro accounts within cut-off times.
-Support the line manager with system testing, workflow changes and new product initiatives.
-Challenge existing processes, and find and deliver improvements and automation, for example with Excel VBA.
-Follow the bank's operational procedures, policies and controls at all times.
