Role Summary

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for an Assistant Vice President for our Trade & Transaction Reporting team. 

Responsible for front-to-back trade and transaction reporting reconciliations across EMIR, MiFIR, and SFTR regimes, ensuring regulatory reporting is accurate, complete, and submitted on time. The role focuses on reconciliation controls, exception management, regulatory change implementation, and stakeholder collaboration across Operations, Compliance, Technology, and Front Office teams.

Position Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and oversee daily reconciliation controls to validate reporting accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate, prioritise, and resolve reporting exceptions, performing root cause analysis where required.
  • Monitor completeness, pairing, and matching controls, including UTI alignment and counterparty reporting.
  • Support daily regulatory reporting submissions and validation processes.
  • Track regulatory developments and translate requirements into control and process enhancements.
  • Produce management information (MI), exception reporting, and governance updates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to resolve issues and improve reporting controls. 

 

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in regulatory reporting, financial markets operations, or trade reporting environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience managing reconciliation exceptions.
  • Knowledge of trade lifecycle, data lineage, UTI/UPI frameworks, and regulatory reporting controls.
  • Understanding of EMIR, MiFIR, and/or SFTR regulations.
  • Ability to define business requirements, conduct gap analysis, and work with technology teams on system enhancements.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills. 
  • Managing large volumes of exceptions across multiple reporting regimes.
  • Balancing BAU activities with regulatory change initiatives.
  • Navigating complex data flows and system dependencies.
  • Driving stakeholder understanding and adherence to regulatory control requirements.
