Role Summary

To Support and Manage the provision of IT services to the SMBC’s London based Lease Finance Subsidiary - SMLF UK 

This includes: 

Liaising with the various IT Support Teams across the SMBC organisation to ensure the provision of service of all IT systems to SMLF UK. 

Working with LF UK Management and Staff to understand their business needs, translating them into IT requirements and managing the resulting backlog. 

Key interface will be with the Lease Finance front office team but may also be required with Risk, Finance and Regulatory Reporting 

Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders 

Provide face to face, Microsoft Teams and written reports, updates and recommendations to Programme Management 

Align platform delivery for front office users to the target operating model as defined from the Leasing team 

Operating within a Global Leasing Product Team to deliver large projects ensuring SMLF UK’s interests and needs are given equitable status and focus. 

Responsibility and Authority 

Service Ownership – Own the daily delivery of service of the Leasing IT Services. Act as the conduit between the business and the IT technical and infrastructure support staff to ensure all systems, services and interfaces are operating efficiently and effectively. Manage the communication to the Business in relation to service outages, data and functionality incidents with the correct sense of urgency. 

Business Analysis – As a SME in the Leasing business, the incumbent will be required to assess the Business requests and needs for Change and build a backlog of Requirements based on priority against value. They should have the relevant knowledge and experience to challenge requirements and elicit the relevant information to derive and define the most suitable solutions. 

 

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Business requirements gathering  

Oversee the documentation of Day 1 business requirements for impacted IT areas in line with SMBC guidelines. 

Work with business stakeholders to ensure that the requirements gathered are of sufficient detail to be translated into functional requirements by IT 

General 

Develop a delivery plan, along with key deliverables and milestones, and agree with Programme Management where necessary 

Work closely with IT Business Analysts to manage output and deliverables 

Lead periodic review meetings with a view to monitor progress against plan, highlighting any risks, issues, or dependencies along with mitigation plans, request for any support or escalation required etc 

Provide regular updates on progress made, risks etc at programme meetings. 

Extensive experience interacting with senior stakeholders to ensure project alignment and successful outcome 

Close working relationship with our nearshore LF application support team in Dublin 

 

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

Background  

The individual will be expected to participate/present at Working Groups and Steering Committees, explaining any implications or risks to delivery, so that senior management can make decisions and take appropriate actions based on the input. 

The individual must have experience in transformation and change programmes in Lending in one or more of the following areas:  

Lease Finance 

Process Automation, APIs 

Risk Management 

The individual must have a good knowledge and understanding of Leasing products 

The individual must be able to work with Business/Functional Analysts and IT partners in a collaborative manner, demonstrating the business impact of any system changes 

Educated to degree level or relevant experience. 

Experience in conducting workshops with senior stakeholders. 

Must be able to work with analysts, developers, vendors alike in a collaborative manner, demonstrating the business impact of any system changes. 

Able to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills (both written and verbal).  

Specialist technical skills 

Experience in transformation and change programmes in ALFA or other core Leasing platforms 

Good knowledge and understanding of project management, process mapping and business requirements gathering. 

Good knowledge of JIRA and Confluence 

Challenges

Front office RMs will be busy with BAU workloads as well as with other change programmes, so utilising their time efficiently will be key
