Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Associate to join our Risk Management Sustainability team.
The Sustainability Risk Associate will support the Risk Management Department in developing and managing the Bank’s approach to ESG and Sustainability Risk. The role involves assisting in the delivery of the team’s core objectives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing effective Sustainability Risk management tools and the role holder will contribute to the integration of the Sustainability Risk framework and policy across the business
Supporting the Sustainability risk team (contribution to enhancement of ESG /Sustainability risk agenda), Facilitate Committee and Forums (assist in preparation and successful facilitation of Sustainability risk Committees), Research & Analysis (researching and analysing emerging sustainability issues).
Analytical skills (to include proficient ms office skills) with coding advantageous, Project management and Communications skill are all essential for this role

Position Description
This role will work with and as part of the EMEA Sustainability team to support SMBC’s objectives and to achieve the Bank’s sustainability Strategy. The Sustainability Risk Associate will support the Sustainability Risk team and the Risk Management Department in implementing an effective and efficient ESG/Sustainability Risk strategy across EMEA.
