Role Summary
This role in Strategic Planning is core and integral to leading business and planning sustainable growth activities across the EMEA region. The individual in this position will be responsible for driving the strategic vision and ensuring that the company’s growth objectives are met through a combination of innovative strategies and efficient operations.
The role requires daily communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Head of EMEA, the General Manager of the Strategic Planning Department, front office colleagues that include the Heads of Business Verticals, and General Managers of Front Office for each business line, and control & support colleagues that include CxOs and other General Managers. Effective communication and coordination with these individuals are essential to align the strategic initiatives with the overall business objectives and to ensure seamless execution of the growth plans.
In addition to strategic planning and operational oversight, the role also involves continuous monitoring and analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and internal performance metrics. This data-driven approach will help in making informed decisions and adjusting strategies as needed to stay ahead in the dynamic market environment.

Strategic Planning
· Develop and deliver strategic plans to meet long-term goals
· Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities
· Align initiatives with business goals in collaboration with leadership
Competitive Analysis
· Monitor competitor strategies and market trends
· Conduct gap analysis and positioning with external advisors
· Provide insights to strengthen competitive advantage
Business Development
· Identify and assess new opportunities across EMEA
· Develop market entry and expansion strategies
Decision-Making Support
· Deliver data-driven insights for strategic decisions
· Present recommendations to leadership using clear visuals
Tracking and Refinement
· Oversee initiatives to ensure goal alignment
· Adjust plans based on performance and market shifts
Skills and Experience
· A “can-do” attitude, innovative thinking and the ability to think out of the box
· Experience in large scaled, complex project management in finance essential
· Strong numerical, financial and logical thinking skills
· Effective presentation skills
· Expert internal and external stakeholder management skills
· Experience in large financial institutions
· Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment with colleagues preferred
· Quick learner and ability to interpret and apply knowledge of SMBC policies and rules, organisation and roles and responsibilities in EMEA region to their work
