Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Derivatives Trade Execution Support (Associate) for our Macro Rates Department to join our team.
This role supports Front Office trading by ensuring accurate trade execution, system integrity, and cross-functional coordination with global teams, enabling traders to focus on revenue generation.
Essentials of the role are:
-Execute internal bank trades (e.g. repos, swaps, funding trades) and support key Front Office processes.
-Ensure all trades are accurately captured in systems with correct risk and P&L representation.
-Act as a key liaison between Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office teams globally.
Requierments of the role are:
-Strong analytical and numerical skills with experience handling complex financial data.
-Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across functions and regions.
-Technical capability (e.g. VBA, Python) and attention to detail with a proactive mindset.
Business Area
The Derivative Products Group operates across London, Frankfurt, New York and Hong Kong, providing 24-hour coverage in interest rate and currency derivatives trading. The Trade and Execution Support team supports trading and marketing functions by managing trade execution processes, risk analysis, and system accuracy.
Position Description
As an Associate in Trade and Execution Support, you will execute a variety of internal trades, ensure accurate system representation, and support risk and P&L processes. You will run key Front Office processes such as T+1 activities, risk reporting (delta/vega), trade modelling, and investigations while providing technical support for systems and projects. The role also involves improving operational processes through automation, responding to ad-hoc queries, and collaborating cross-functionally with trading, risk, finance, and compliance teams globally.
