Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Derivative Settlements and Confirmations AVP for our Derivative Operations section to join our team. 

Business Area

This role sits within Derivative Operations servicing post-trade operations of Derivative and FX activity across a number of SMBC entities

Position Description

Derivative Settlements and Confirmations AVP 

 

Responsible for the timely settlement of derivative products including Rate Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, Caps/Floors, Inflation Swaps and FX trades across Bank and Capital Markets entities mitigating settlement risk.

Provide support for Derivative trade confirmation flow for Bank entities. Actioning and completing Long Form and ISDA confirmations via paper and Markitwire in a timely and accurate manner.

Plays a key role to ensure BAU and other daily team tasks are completed accurately, on time and to the expected standards in accordance with operational procedures. Escalates issues and challenges, reports routinely and updates management promptly.

Provide support to the Team Leader and deliver key services to front office stakeholders and outsourced locations in EMEA division.

Create, check and agree rate reset notices with external customers.

Monitor necessary payment queues in internal systems and SAA and take appropriate action to ensure payments are released.

Collaborates with and supports the team to meet customer needs, team objectives and ad hoc tasks within defined timeframes.

Experience of derivatives settlements business to include Interest Rate Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, Caps/Floors, Inflation Swaps & FX Options required

Experience of drafting and matching derivative confirmations and an understanding and knowledge of the ISDA Definitions for rates derivatives products required

Ability to draft bespoke language for non-standard products in line with the applicable ISDA Definitions required

Candidate must be able to adapt to continually changing regulatory environment for derivatives business, be determined to continually challenge the status quo of existing processing methods whilst recognising the need to ensure control is maintained and client experience enhanced.
