Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Data Quality Rule Management for our EMEA Data Office to join our team.
Summary of Role
- Support the Data Governance onboarding team in the Data Quality stages of the E2E onboarding of the prioritised Domains.
- Review the Data Control Requirements and Business Data Controls as part of the Data Governance onboarding (initially focusing on Risk & Finance Domains).
- Capture, build, test & deploy, the corresponding DQ Rules using the relevant DQ Tools to extend the central monitoring of DQ gaps for EMEA Key Data Elements.
Essentials of the Role:
- Working knowledge and understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, monitoring/ profiling, analysis, and data management tools including an understanding of Physical, Logical, and Business data Models
- Experience in key Data Domains such as Risk, Finance, Transaction & Product, Master and Reference Data
- Working knowledge of Collibra Data Intelligence Platform and Collibra Data Quality Tooling
Candidate Requirements:
- Review/support the team in capturing the DQ Control Requirements, Business implemented Data Controls, links to Risk Control Framework and supporting Data Lineage with Data Governance Team and associated Use Case stakeholders – identify gaps and propose updates where appropriate.
- Capture the Data Quality Rule Requirements for build in DQ Tooling and maintain Collibra data catalogue.
- Implement DQ Rules in the interim/strategic DQ Tools employed in EMEA for centralised DQ Monitoring leveraging the support from team members. SDLC concepts apply.
Business Area
The DQ Control & Monitoring function sits in Data Governance within the EMEA Data Office as part of the Operations, Planning and Data Department (OPPD). It covers all EMEA entities (including Securities and Banking subsidiaries) and all datasets. The Teams primary focus is on data that is most important to SMBC EMEA and ensuring that it meets defined quality standards for the business and ensuring there is transparency on Business Controls and its effectiveness.
We deliver this successfully within a framework with several key components: Extending our centralised DQ rules Monitoring scope and capability in alignment with Data Governance requirements, DQ Case Management, Metrics & Reporting, and Remediation. We are required to build out a robust framework to measure, monitor and report on (key) enterprise data to ensure that it is fit for purpose for all EMEA regions. This involves working towards a global data governance model with the regional Data Offices across the globe to achieve this.
The underlying message for the EMEA Data Office is that as we evolve, the Data Quality & Control Team will focus on supporting how we can use Data to drive new ways of working and improved business outcomes. There are 6 pillars of the EMEA Data Office – Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Innovation & Advisory, Data Analytics, Data Migration and Data Privacy.
Position Description
- The Data Quality Rule Management role is instrumental in the continued innovation and growth of the Data Quality (DQ) Control & Monitoring within the Data Governance Team. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of Data Management within this remit including DQ Rules building, DQ Case (Issues and Exceptions) Management, DQ KPI Reporting, Requirements gathering and Project delivery management.
- The role will require working with stakeholders across all functions and regions to ensure fit-for-purpose data, as we look to leverage best practice across the industry. As the concepts of Data Governance and centralised DQ Control & Monitoring are new to the EMEA Region within SMBC, the role also requires an ability to educate and convince stakeholders at all levels on the essential nature of this function.
