Role Summary
We’re looking for a VP to join our team in Credit Department.
This position will be in a new Work Out Team once established within SMBC EMEA responsible for overseeing the control and supervision of problem asset exposures within SMBC EMEA including SMBC EU Bank and SMBC Bank International. While formally sitting in the Work Out Team, the role will also be involved in sub-IG Corporate credit analysis/ review as workflow allows.
Strong corporate credit experience working in a major financial institution.
Strong knowledge of corporate loan products, trade finance and derivative products.
Knowledge of restructuring and work out.
Degree level education and/ or relevant professional qualifications with appropriate credit training.
Business Area
Work Out function in second line of defense / Credit Department for problem assets.
Position Description
Preparing analytical and well-articulated credit recommendations on problem asset credit strategies and restructuring options to approvers, presentation/ recommendation of credit opinion to internal stakeholders.
Assessing and challenging analysis by the front office.
Assessment of exposure monitoring and credit costs.
Assessment of forbearance, default, Unlikeliness to Pay and non-performing status.
Analyse of Front Office credit applications in a structured manner for clear identification and articulation of credit risk issues and how these may be mitigated.
