Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for an Assistant Vice President for our Credit Planning & Portfolio Intelligence team to join our team.
The Assistant Vice President acts as a subject matter expert and delivery lead within the Credit Planning & Portfolio Intelligence Team, supporting data and reporting, transformation and risk intelligence, sustainability planning and portfolio analytics deliverables.

Position Description
Portfolio Monitoring
- Deliver Risk Intelligence Analysis, Early Warning Analytics and Portfolio Analytics.
- Develop and enhance early warning indicators and quantitative risk signals.
- Build forward-looking financial projection and deterioration analysis.
- Support stress testing methodology, scenario analysis and production.
- Support credit cost forecasting and portfolio risk quantification.
- Conduct deep-dive credit and portfolio risk analysis in collaboration with Lead VP and the team.
- Translate financial analysis and risk signals into actionable portfolio intelligence.
Reporting & MI
- Deliver Dashboard Production, MI Production and recurring management reporting.
- Support committee materials and executive reporting outputs.
- Maintain reporting standards and improve visualisation quality.
- Validate reporting data and ensure output quality.
Data & Analytics
- Maintain and enhance data quality across Portfolio DB and reporting datasets.
- Support data governance implementation and reporting control activities.
- Support Reporting Automation and data visualisation.
- Contribute to dashboard development and data model improvements.
- Improve reporting efficiency and control robustness.
Credit Transformation
- Perform Business Analysis, Process Design and Transformation Implementation.
- Support Global Credit Transformation, Globe and other credit transformation activities.
- Conduct testing and implementation support.
- Maintain process documentation and future-state operating guidance.
Short Description
Experience
- 4-8 years' experience in Risk Management, Credit Risk, Portfolio Analytics, Business Management, Finance or Data Analytics.
- Experience producing management information and analytical reporting.
- Experience supporting projects or process improvement initiatives.
- Banking or financial services experience desirable.
- Understanding of credit risk concepts, portfolio monitoring principles and corporate finance.
- Knowledge of management reporting processes, data management and reporting controls.
- Good understanding of financial statement analysis, early warning frameworks, stress testing and credit cost forecasting.
- Understanding of sustainability risk concepts desirable.
- Understanding of credit risk concepts and portfolio monitoring principles.
- Knowledge of management reporting processes.
- Familiarity with data management and reporting controls.

- Strong quantitative and analytical capability.
- Ability to work with large datasets and build financial projections.

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline.
- CFA qualification or progress toward CFA highly desirable for Risk Intelligence and Predictive Analytics roles.
