Role Summary
The role is responsible for supporting the Bank’s Origination and Distribution teams in the execution and settlement of Trades relating to syndicated loan transactions. This includes reviewing and negotiating documentation, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring operational and regulatory compliance throughout the trade lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret syndicated credit agreements with emphasis on transfer mechanics.
-Draft, review, and negotiate LMA standard documents (confirmations, assignment agreements, participation agreements and pricing letters) and other trade-related documentation.
- Ensure lending documentation aligns with credit approvals and operational procedures.
-Work directly with counterparties, internal teams, and external agents to resolve documentation and settlement issues.
- Escalate risk and compliance issues to front office, legal, and operations Teams.
Business Area
The role is within our Execution, Distribution and Limit Control Middle office team, which is part of the OAD operations team of SMBC
Position Description
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of syndicated loan markets and LMA documentation standards.
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating legal documentation related to loan trading.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of trade settlement processes and operational risk controls.
