Role Summary

Is the next step in your career atSMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for an Associate to join our Compliance Department.

 

The role is required to help ensure the Compliance Monitoring function is effective in its duties as an independent second line of defence function to monitor and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the Bank’s processes and controls to meet its regulatory obligations.

 

Main activities for the role include: 

  • Execute testing on assigned CMP reviews or sections of reviews in a timely manner and in accordance with the applicable procedures;
  • Document testing in accordance with the Compliance Monitoring conventions and in a manner which enables the testing to be reperformed;
  • Escalate findings in testing in a timely manner to avoid any surprises. Prepare, as required, concise reports to explain findings from reviews and present and explain issues clearly to management;
  • Assist in the analysis of root causes of findings and identify remedial action under the direction of management;
  • Assist in the follow up of action plans due for completion;
  • Where required, assist in the preparation of Management Information;
  • Complete mandatory training on a timely basis;
  • Maintain a working knowledge of key products, business operations and regulatory changes which may impact the Group; and
  • Where required, to assist with Compliance Monitoring related projects.
