Role Summary
- We are looking for an Assistant Vice President to join the Data, Analytics & Transformation team within EMEA CIB & SFS Business Management.
- The role will support the delivery of data, analytics and transformation initiatives across Front Office departments, combining analytical capability, process improvement and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will help translate business questions into practical insights, improve reporting and data quality, support system and process enhancements, and contribute to strategic initiatives including AI adoption, automation and the enhancement of platforms such as DealCloud.
- This is a broad and visible role, offering exposure to Corporate & Investment Banking and Structured Finance Solutions products, Front Office processes, senior stakeholders, data governance, technology change and business transformation initiatives.
Business Area
- The role sits within the Data, Analytics & Transformation team, part of EMEA CIB & SFS Business Management.
- The Business Management team, comprising 17 professionals, supports both Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) and Structured Finance Solutions (SFS). The team provides governance, management information, regulatory delivery, operational oversight, data and technology support, and develops and implements the global CIB strategy. Organised into three specialist teams: Strategic Planning, Business Control Office, and Data, Analytics & Transformation; it works across product and coverage businesses to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and support sustainable business growth.
- The Data, Analytics & Transformation team helps Front Office teams make better decisions through trusted data, clear reporting, advanced analytics and continuous business improvement. The team delivers initiatives across reporting, process optimisation, AI adoption, automation, data governance and broader transformation initiatives.
- As the volume of strategic initiatives, data and reporting continues to increase, the team is expanding to 8 members to provide greater analytical capability and faster responses to business demands.
Position Description
- Own the delivery of analytical outputs, dashboards and management information for Front Office and Business Management stakeholders.
- Gather, cleanse, validate and analyse data from multiple internal systems, identifying trends, discrepancies and data quality issues.
- Translate business questions into analytical solutions and actionable recommendations.
- Design and develop dashboards, reporting frameworks, analytical data models and solutions using Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
- Contribute and drive enhancement initiatives for DealCloud and other Front Office systems, including requirements gathering, testing and implementation support.
- Build and test AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and Power Platform technologies. Assist with AI use case development, testing and user adoption activities.
- Analyse business processes, identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort and strengthen controls and recommend solutions to stakeholders.
- Document business requirements, process changes, operating procedures, checklists and user guidance.
- Work with Technology, Data, Change and Front Office teams to deliver enhancements and resolve issues.
- Lead workstreams, coordinate stakeholders, define requirements and drive delivery of transformation initiatives.
- Support data governance activities, including data definitions, ownership, quality monitoring and control documentation.
- Prepare clear presentations and management updates for senior stakeholders.
- Support regulatory, audit and governance requests where required.
- Build and manage strong working relationships across Business Management, Front Office, Data, Technology and Change teams.
- Provide input into prioritisation of data, reporting and transformation initiatives.
- Manage data carefully, follow agreed processes and escalate questions, risks or inconsistencies promptly.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
We are looking for a candidate with:
Essential
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to work with large and varied datasets.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy, quality and control.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills, including PowerPoint and data handling.
- Ability to organise work effectively, manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data, trends and project outcomes in a practical way.
- Confidence to ask questions, challenge data appropriately and escalate issues where needed.
- Proactive approach to problem solving, process improvement and continuous improvement.
- Interest in banking, corporate finance, financial markets, data, technology or business transformation.
- Ability to build effective relationships across Front Office, Business Management, Data, Technology and Change teams.
- Hands on experience and expertise with Power BI, Tableau or similar reporting tools.
- Hands on experience and expertise with SQL, exposure to Python or other data querying language.
- Exposure to Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform.
Desirable
- Experience in financial services, banking, consulting, audit, operations, business management or a data-related role.
- Exposure to CRM or deal management platforms such as DealCloud.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality and control principles.
- Interest in AI, automation, process improvement and digital transformation.
