Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a BPMN & DMN CoE Technical Analyst for our IT & Security Department to join our team.
The BPMN & DMN CoE Technical Analyst supports the rollout of a new Centre of Excellence by assisting with process modelling, platform adoption, and project coordination across SMBC EMEA. This role plays a key part in enabling process standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement through collaboration with technical and business teams.

- Strong documentation and communication skills to capture requirements, support training, and liaise with stakeholders.
- Project coordination capability to assist in planning, tracking, and reporting across multiple workstreams.

- Experience in business process analysis, technical delivery, or project support.
- Basic familiarity with BPMN and DMN standards or a strong willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in documentation and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA, Excel, or similar).

This new role forms a key part of the EMEA Cross-Product BPM IT Platforms team, driving delivery and enablement of IT solutions across SMBC EMEA.
Position Description
Role Background
- SMBC EMEA is undertaking a strategic initiative to standardise and improve business process and decision modelling across the organisation, using BPMN and DMN as industry-recognised frameworks.
- The absence of consistent modelling practices, tooling, and governance has led to inefficiencies, limited visibility, and challenges in scaling automation and process improvement efforts.
- Establishing a BPMN / DMN CoE will provide a centralised framework, reusable assets, training, and governance to drive operational excellence, support digital transformation, and ensure regulatory alignment.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
BPMN & DMN CoE Support
- Assist in documenting CoE objectives, KPIs, and deliverables.
- Help maintain process modelling standards and templates.
- Support training coordination and onboarding activities.
Technical Documentation & Tooling
- Capture and document stakeholder requirements and process flows.
- Support configuration and documentation of BPMN/DMN tooling (e.g., Camunda).
- Assist in maintaining technical specifications and user guides.
Process Improvement & Operational Support
- Work with business teams to identify process inefficiencies.
- Support process modelling and re-engineering activities.
- Help track and report on process improvement outcomes.
Platform Adoption & Training
- Provide first-line support to users adopting the BPMN/DMN platform.
- Assist in preparing training materials and user documentation.
- Help gather feedback and support continuous improvement efforts.
Project Management Support
- Maintain project plans, trackers, and RAID logs.
- Support scheduling of workshops, meetings, and training sessions.
- Assist in preparing status reports and stakeholder communications.
- Track deliverables, risks, and issues across workstreams.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely updates and actions.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with technical leads, business analysts, and CoE members.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to delivery planning.
- Maintain clear communication and escalate issues as needed.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in business process analysis, technical delivery, or project support.
- Basic understanding of BPMN and DMN standards (training can be provided).
- Exposure to workflow or process automation tools (e.g., Camunda, Flowable).
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Excel).
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Interest in process improvement and digital transformation.
