Role Summary

  • Core Development Languages covering TSQL, C#, Python, Data warehousing principles and PowerBI
  • Strong numerical and financial skills with the ability to interpret financial information and able to design and use of financial models
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience and understanding of a Banking Environment, Product range and associated opportunities and risks is a plus
  • Experience in critical business process support out of hours when on call.
  • Ability to handle communications at all levels from across the whole business

Business Area

The Client Services development team requires an agile and versatile specialist member with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Data Warehousing and PowerBI. Advantageous to be familiar with C# and Python languages.

The role requires an individual who is comfortable to work in close partnership with a variety of business stakeholders, often globally.

The individual works well within a team as well as independently and is self-motivated and pro-active.

The specialist will be expected to be well versed in, and keep up to date with, a multitude of new technologies. The role requires a thorough understanding of development and architecture best practices coupled with a good working knowledge of IT General Controls.

Accountable for the successful software delivery from inception to deployment that forms part of the Client Services Technology Stack.

Deliver key strategic business goals by implementing systems changes that support revenue generation and regulatory reporting for the Bank, focusing on database efficiency and effectiveness and quality reporting.

Responsible for the development and implementation of high priority, high value changes in close cooperation with Product Managers ensuring fast, stable, resilient and supportable systems within the approved budgetary framework.

Assisting in internal and external audit and their findings as well as regular engagement with the compliance team regarding their specific area.

Endorse and promote Diversity and Inclusion opportunities across the board.

Position Description

  • Participating in an effective and efficient support of the Client Services infrastructure, servers, data flows, overnight batches, and extracts
  • Developing code on SQL Server technology stack including SSIS / SSAS / SSRS and Power BI items
  • Delivering fast-paced agile high quality software changes and solutions, participating in Scrums and Sprints and creating and deploying Releases.
  • Participating in and contributing to SQL Server and Power BI strategic usage and upgrades.
  • Frequent SQL Server database development tasks such as SQL queries, stored procedures, indexes, table partitions, and query optimizations.
  • Providing user support to business queries relating to Client Services platforms.
  • Promoting enterprise data management and governance design approach delivered through Agile SDLC.
  • Contributing to the current tech stack for future hybrid collaboration with cloud technologies such as Azure.
  • Delivering regulatory and internal reporting in a resilient and timely manner incorporating the latest and most suitable industry and technology solutions.
  • Stay up to date with wider IT industry landscape including Big Data, ML and AI concepts and their potential usage in the business.
