Role Summary
Is the next step in oyur career a move to SMBC Group EMEA? We are looking for a Anaplan Modeller for our Operations Planning Department (OPPD) to join our team.
This role will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Anaplan models to support strategic planning, forecasting, and operational decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial modeling, data analysis, and enterprise performance management tools, with a particular focus on Anaplan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Anaplan models to support business planning and forecasting processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Anaplan solutions.
- Optimize model performance and ensure data integrity across connected models and systems.
- Provide ongoing support and training to end-users, ensuring adoption and effective use of Anaplan.
- Partner with IT and data teams to integrate Anaplan with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, data warehouses).
- Document model architecture, processes, and user guides to support governance and knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with Anaplan best practices, new features, and industry trends.
Business Area
The remit of OPPD spans all SMBC EMEA entities and countries, all business units and supporting functions, including:
- OPPD Planning Group: Responsible for enhancing and improving the operating effectiveness of the Operations Planning Department.
- Transformation and Change Management Group: Responsible for programme and project design and delivery, change methodology and toolset and providing Project Management and Business Analyst resources to support programmes and projects.
- Data Management Group: Responsible for the Data Strategy, design of the Data Architecture and supporting delivery of data solutions.
- Financial Crime Business Service Management Group: Responsible for strengthening our first line financial crime capability, particularly as we strive to grow our Transaction Banking business
- Operational Resilience: Responsible for strengthening the firm’s operational resilience, management of third-party providers (internal and external) and managing third party risk.
- CRES: Responsible for Corporate Real Estate & Services, Health & Safety, Workplace adjustments and services, Technical and Environmental services and Security & Risk.
- Control Office: Responsible for mitigating non-financial risks, including but not limited to operational risk and compliance risk within the First Line of Defence (1LoD) of SMBC EMEA
Position Description
Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), business modeling, or enterprise performance management.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience building and maintaining Anaplan models in a complex business environment.
- Experience working in the financial services or banking industry is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of delivering scalable and efficient Anaplan solutions in cross-functional teams.
- Certified Anaplan Model Builder (Solution Architect certification is a plus).
- Strong understanding of Anaplan architecture, model building principles, and data integration techniques.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Familiarity with financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday) and data governance practices.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts such as budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
