Business Area
This role is responsible for providing an interface between SMBC Bank EU AG, its Branches and the EMEA Region’s IT, and consequently it is incumbent upon the role to leverage its matrix relationships (SMBC Bank EU AG, SMBC Bank International, SMBC Düsseldorf Branch, SMBC North America and JRIE/A) to ensure that IT issues affecting SMBC Bank EU AG are addressed or escalated appropriately and in a timely fashion
Other Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Support, review and deliver local IT projects according to expected standards.
- Provide cover to Bank's IT support, answering calls, creating tickets, inform or arrange direct contact with other teams / team member, if required to solve or escalate any issues.
- Contact person for front office departments and other branches.
- Check potential IT related cost aspects, expense and budget requirements are addressed, administered and reviewed.
- Coordinate and support any IT related activities in conjunction with building services, vendors and suppliers.
- Ensure incidents and service requests reported via the Bank's ticketing system are escalated to the appropriate resolver group as required, monitored, managed and progressed.
- Monitor activities on any local installations and services and assure availability.
- Support any system enhancement, development, release updates, business continuity and disaster recovery activities (planning, documenting, testing, implementing and verifying).
- Ensure adherence to the Bank's standards, strategies, policies and procedures.
- Keep close contact and communication with other team member / line manager, even located or split into different branch or office location.
- Be prepared to provide support early / late hours, on local holiday and weekends, if required.
- Administration and regular review of contracts with external parties (vendors, contractors and service providers).
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Good communication skills, knowing how to escalate effectively and in time, ensuring different departments and functional groups share knowledge to act regarding regulations and to support customer (internal / external) needs.
- Practical knowledge of desktop / productivity applications (incl. Microsoft Suite etc.).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft underlying technologies – DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, File / Print Servers etc.
- Ability to see problem tickets through to resolution and to coordinate with various teams in fault finding process.
- Working to tight SLAs with experience of call logging systems (Service Now).
- Ability to apply and enhance own technical knowledge. Ensuring this is kept up to date with industry advancements and that knowledge is shared with other team members.
- Able to work alone and within a team and capable of interfacing directly with all levels of users and management.
- Enthusiastic, reliable and with a positive attitude.
