KYC Analyst
Job Purpose:
Conduct customer due diligence on ongoing reviews by applying the relevant CDD requirements to fulfil SMBC policy and regulatory requirements. Support the Front Office departments in understanding customer AML risks.
Candidate requirements:
- Have full knowledge of the CDD Procedures and system functionalities
- Good written and verbal communication
- Good attention to detail
- Well organised, able to prioritise and meet agreed deadlines
- Promote co-operation and teamwork, contribute knowledgeably, and offer advice and assistance where possible
- Consider the impact of change, demonstrate flexibility and initiative
- Communicate positively, present information clearly and in a timely manner, listen and ask questions to ensure understanding and impact
- Validate information to identify and effectively solve problems, be solution oriented
Financial Crime Middle Office
Position Description
- Complete assigned ongoing KYC files.
- Control documentation supplied by the business departments, for completeness, adequacy and accuracy.
- Investigate and analyze results of screening for Negative News, Sanctions and Politically Exposed Persons relating to customers.
- Keep up to date with any changes in the procedures and apply said changes in the daily work.
- Draft required forms to document any exceptions to the procedure or to explain specific situations.
- Liaise with Front Office Departments and within the team when discrepancies in documentation are identified and provide appropriate feedback.
- Ensure relevant systems are updated when a change has occurred during the review.
- Escalate any issues arising from the KYC process to the coach in a timely manner.
