Position Description
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
• Perform nostro reconciliations and clear wash accounts
• Resolve subledger breaks
• Monitor, maintain, and control the general ledger under GGAAP and IFRS
• Support daily accounting and tax operations
• Review incoming intercompany invoices and coordinate approval workflows
• Reconcile balances with SMBC Capital Markets (CM)
• Receive funding requests from thin branches and prepare payment instructions
• Communicate with stakeholders locally and across EMEA
• Calculate fees for intergroup services
• Support the process for issuing outgoing invoices
• Prepare monthly tax reports
• Support the HGB year-end closing process for SMBC EU with dedicated responsibilities
• Draft and maintain Finance & Controlling procedures and manuals
• Propose and implement controls to improve the completeness and accuracy of financial statements
• Conduct testing activities related to new products
• Serve as a contact person for various departments regarding the above-mentioned activities
• Provide administrative support to the Finance team
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Head of Accounting
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Student of business adminstration (BWL, VWL, Wirtschaftsingenieur)
• Apprenticeship in banking and knowledge of accounting would be an advantage
• Excellent Excel skills
• English skills writing and speaking CEF B2
• Proactive
• Self starter
• Inter cultural teamplayer
• Accurate/attention to detail
• MS-Office
• Willingness to work in our Frankfurt Office on weekly basis
