Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We are seeking a highly skilled and composed Integrated Risk Specialist / Vice President (m/f/d) with a Quantitative and IT focus to join our Risk team.
This strategic role combines quantitative and technology expertise to support the development of risk models, systems, and analytics across market, credit, and liquidity risk domains. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a calm, thoughtful approach to problem-solving and a strong ability to integrate risk perspectives across functions and geographies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement quantitative models for integrated risk assessment, supporting the underlying key financial risk stripes (ie. market, credit, operational and liquidity risk).
- Help design, enhance and maintain the risk quantification infrastructure in collaboration with IT, ensuring performance, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
- Support cross-risk factor analysis, stress testing, and scenario modelling.
- Conduct and support quantitative analysis and monitoring tests required to meet the requirements and standards of the independent validation of risk models and contribute to model governance from a model owner perspective.
- Collaborate with global risk teams, front office, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Promote a calm, collaborative, and integrated approach to risk management across departments.
- Leverage modern technologies and cloud platforms to drive innovation in risk analytics.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Seasoned quantitative professional with 7+ years of experience in front office quant roles and risk management (market and/or credit risk/and or operational risk), delivering analytical and technical solutions within leading financial institutions.
- Strong quantitative modelling skills in Fixed Income and FX derivatives.
- Solid understanding of financial products and risk metrics across multiple risk types.
- Strong Object-oriented programming skills in Python, C/C++, and database programming.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with risk engines and data platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and integrate effectively across teams and risk disciplines.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English.
