Position Description
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
• Supervision daily accounting tasks, e.g.: General ledger monitoring, maintenance and control under GGAAP & IFRS, approval of manual journal entries
• Responsible for preparation of monthly closing process for GGAAP and IFRS including monthly coordination, quality control, consolidation bookings, FX revaluation, Taxes
• Support Term End Process of SMBC EU:
Contact for auditors, preparation of detailed analysis, preparation of the BFA3 reporting
• Project work in relation to the finance department like a development of the reporting tool
• Responsible for preparation of monthly VAT report and submission of tax reporting to Düsseldorf
• Responsible for quarterly reconciliation of CIF and Non-CIF accounts
• Responsible for preparation of monthly and daily financial control reports (e.g. BilGUV; FRP)
• Support reporting to Head Office
• Drafting and maintenance of F&C related procedures and manuals
• Propose and implement controls to enhance completeness and accuracy of financial statements
• Contact person for the different departments for all questions arising from the above-mentioned activities
• Support the Head of Accounting, with professional changes, preparation of decision documents
• Any other tasks assigned by Head of Accounting
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Several years’ experience in an accounting / finance role within a financial institution
• Educated to Bachelors / masters level; any professional qualification is considered as a plus
• Be able to understand complex concepts, challenge them and provide explanations in a clear and precise way
• Strong analytical, numerical and IT skills
• Proven track record in building relationships (both internal and external) as well as demonstrating and promoting team spirit
• Be able to work independently
• Demonstration of SMBC values
• Language skills:
German and English: business fluent
