Role Summary
SMBC Bank EU AG has been established as a subsidiary of SMBC in Germany. It is a German incorporate Aktien Gesellschaft (AG) regulated under the supervision of BaFin.
SMBC Bank EU AG has a dedicated risk management team in charge of designing, implementing, developing and maintaining the Bank’s risk management framework across the entity and the various risk types to which the entity is exposed.
In this context, the job holder is responsible for the operational risk management frameworks. In particular, he / she is responsible for:
- Supporting team in designing, implementing developing and maintaining the operational risk management frameworks to regulatory standards and best practice;
- Prepare management information reports/presentations in order to ensure that superiors have the relevant information needed to support operational and strategic decision-making

Position Description
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, review and report operational risks, losses and issues
- Support team in conducting Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) and Scenario Analysis
- Monitor the Key Risk Indicators
- Support team in further development of the operational risk management framework
- Support team in managing operational risk within the implemented risk appetite framework of the Bank
- Draft and edit operational risk policy and procedures for the Bank
- Prepare management information reports/presentations
- Carry out a variety of activities as required, involving conducting analysis and liaison, in order to support on-going initiatives as well as monitoring.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Knowledge of the market and regulatory standards for operational risk
- Detailed understanding of internal and external reporting of operational risk
- Understanding of identifications and assessment approaches used in operational risk
- Prior experience in Corporate / Investment Banking in Front Office Department is an advantage
- Knowledge of Corporate / Investment Banking products and processes is an advantage
- International profile
- Good knowledge of RCSA and Scenario analysis
- Good understanding of risk frameworks and their link to strategy
