Business Area

The FINANCE CHANGE departmement is a cross function, which supports all departments of the FINANCE & CONTROL division of SMBC BANK EU including the following departments:

 

  • Accounting & Reporting: ongoing bookkeeping & accounting, preparation of annual financial statements and coordination of external audit, compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, GGAP), maintenance of internal control system for financial accounting, financial (non-regulatory) reporting to internal& external parties, management of IT projects, calculation of SLA charges
  • Financial Control & Product Control: ongoing monitoring of financial performance incl. lead of annual financial forecast/MYP process, development of a product control function in line with MaRisk including daily monitoring of trading result, market conformity checks of valuation&pricing,
  • Tax: monitoring of changes to tax legislation, maintenance of tax compliance system, review of all tax declarations, maintenance of transfer pricing documentation, support for other teams on all tax related matters
  • Regulatory Reporting: Compliance with all European&German regulatory&ESG reporting requirements, Coordination of ongoing prudential reporting

 

FINANCE CHANGE supports the conception and implementation work of projects and has a strong focus to deliver full solutions including business, process, data and system perspective. The department is in strong contact with the business stakeholders, IT architects, the developers and the data management units.

From a legal perspective the department is responsible for all legal entity of SMBC BANK EU including SNBL.

Position Description

GENERAL duties of a “Finance Change Manager”:

 

  • The change manager run initiatives and projects on business side and is the link and translator between the business subject experts of F&C and the data and IT experts on the IT side.
  • The change manager has the full architecture design in focus and take care about, that a change fit in the current data flows and system architecture.
  • The change manager must find a solution covering the legal/regulatory requirements, the data landscape / data flows and the IT-System Architecture.
  • The change manager is responsible for SMBC BANK EU including all booking and non-booking entities and the SMBC BANK EU Group with the daughter entities.
  • The benchmark of a change manager are the requirements of an ECB regulated large universal bank.

Role Summary

SPECIFIC duties of the role “Corporate Banking Expert”

 

  • Supporting the conception and the implementation work in finance projects, if a change hit bank book products or processes like credit loans or bank book derivatives for example.
  • Responsible to understand the full process from front office to the reporting end and to support the solution design with impact analysis work.
  • Responsible to understand new bank book products and to assume the impact to the finance IT and Data infrastructure.
  • BAU support in case of problems with the bank book portfolio.

 

Skill Requirements

 

  • several years of project management expiriences
  • several years of expiriences as a business or data analyst in a finance division
  • several years of expirience of transforming change issues into a business concept and explaining the requirements to developers 
  • Creativity to develop solutions
  • able to create a simplified holistic picture of complex challenges
  • good knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements
  • good knowledge of accounting requirements
  • advanced user of MS Excel and maybe MS Access
  • high understanding of data strcutures and data flows and high ability to do data analysis
  • very good communication and moderation skills
  • very good english language skills
  • good knowledge of credit products and credit processes
