Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC ? We’re looking for a Front Office Credit Analyst to join our Corporate Banking Team!
Business Area
As Front Office Credit Analyst you will manage the banks assets within its own risk management framework in compliance with all external regulation, helping to protect the bank from losses resulting from customer defaults. You will uphold the first line of defence for the credit risk management of a portfolio of new and existing corporate customers, in line with the banks policy and procedures.
Position Description
In this role you will be responsible for:
Credit Quality:
- Preparation of good quality and succinct credit applications including financial analysis, projections, industry & peer analysis in order to recommend the correct obligor & facility grade to the Head of Credit.
- Review of loan/ISDA terms & conditions to ensure that the banks risk is minimised.
- Support the Head of Credit with Special Credit Reviews in order to minimize losses to the bank.
Credit Processes:
- Exercising timely review of an assigned portfolio in line with all internal policies and procedures to ensure that the bank is always in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining the banks systems primarily GBR and the internal grading tool to ensure compliance with all procedures.
For you to succeed in the role, you’ll need to have:
- University degree or equivalent qualification.
- Several years of experience as a Corporate Credit Analyst in a bank or rating agency.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis and credit products (syndicated loans, derivatives, trade finance).
- Strong experience with legal documentation including LMA and bond documentation, ISDAs, CSAs, netting and credit mitigating features.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Fluent English language skills.
