Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for an Intern to join our team in the Corporate Banking Department for a minimum 3 months duration (starting February 2026)!
Gain hands-on experience in corporate banking within a global financial institution. Work alongside experienced professionals on real transactions and client coverage.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Supporting analysis of potential new transactions and clients.
- Assisting with credit applications and financial statement analysis.
- Preparing marketing materials and client pitches.
For you to succeed in the role, you’ll need to have:
- Strong academic background in business or finance.
- Fluency in German and English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Position Description
This internship supports the Corporate Banking team in delivering client coverage and transaction execution, contributing to SMBC’s growth strategy in EMEA.
Our role will enable you to interact with:
- Coverage teams, product partners, and global SMBC network.
- Large corporate clients and internal management teams.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Assist with credit applications and due diligence reviews.
- Conduct market analysis and identify cross-sell opportunities.
- Liaise with global teams to ensure seamless deal execution.
What will you bring to the role?:
- Strong academic background and interest in corporate banking.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in corporate finance or banking.
