Position Description
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
• Responsible for daily accounting tasks, e.g.: nostro reconciliation, clearing of wash accounts, subledger breaks General ledger monitoring, maintenance and control under GGAAP & IFRS,
• Key contact for outsourcing and insourcing arrangements:
o Review of incoming intercompany invoices and coordination of approval
o Preparation of outgoing intercompany calculation, accrual and invoices; review and booking of cash inflows
o Responsibility for reconciliation with SMBC CM
o Receive funding requests from thin branches and prepare payment instructions
o Communication with involved parties locally and in EMEA
• Support HGB Term End Process SMBC EU with dedicated responsibilities
• Support accounts payable process for OPD2 / GAD
• Drafting and maintenance of F&C related procedures and manuals
• Propose and implement controls to enhance completeness and accuracy of financial statements
• Contact person for the different departments for all questions arising from the above-mentioned activities
• Any other tasks assigned by Head of Accounting
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
• Min 3 years experience in an accounting / finance role within a financial institution
• Accountant or educated to bachelor / master level as a plus
• Be able to understand complex concepts, challenge them and provide explanations in a clear and precise way
• Analytical, numerical and IT skills
• Proven track record in building relationships (both internal and external) as well as demonstrating and promoting team spirit
• Be able to work independently
• Demonstration of SMBC values
• Language skills: German and English: business fluent
