We are looking for a Working Student (m/f/d) to join our AFC Governance & Strategy Team in Frankfurt.

Business Area

The Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Governance & Strategy team plays a critical role in the organization’s efforts to combat financial crime and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations. 

In this role you will gain hands-on experience in the field of anti-financial crime governance within an international banking environment, contributing to the team's efforts to safeguard the organization's integrity and reputation.

Position Description

In this role you will:

• Support policy, procedure, and process alignment, where required, and work towards an aligned SMBC EU Group and EMEA AML/Fin Crime framework
• Support the preparation of the local annual (Group) AML/CTF/Sanctions and Criminal Offences Risk Assessment
• (Project-based) Implementation of the risk assessment conclusions into current policies, local standards and procedures liaising with Local MLRO, Office Heads, EMEA RCCO and other relevant stakeholders
• Assist with development and implementation of AFC Regulatory Horizon Scanning
• Assist with Internal and External Audits and monitor the processing of findings
• Administer (Committee) Meetings and report to the MLRO and Management in relation to AFC Findings to ensure effective oversight and decision-making

For you to succeed in the role, you require the following:

• Advanced Student (Business Administration, Law, Economics, or similar) 
• Solid MS Office Suite, VBA and SQL skills.
• Good spoken and written German and English
• Team player with an entrepreneurial and inquisitive mind-set and able to work independently
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to address conflict and difficult issues in a professional, assertive, and proactive manner
