Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD) is a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC. It was established in 1989 and is now located in contemporary offices in the heart of Dublin’s Georgian quarter. It is a Centre of Excellence for SMBC’s business in Europe, Middle East & Africa and provides a growing range of intra-group services across a variety of Control and Support functions.
Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a HR Payroll Technical Delivery Manager (Vice President) to join our team.
As a Technical Delivery lead within the (ITSD Cross-Products) Business Process Management IT team, the role holder is responsible for oversight of all technical aspects of delivery relating to HR Payroll technology. Working alongside Business & Technology teams to rationalise payroll technology across EMEA. The role holder will perform project management tasks, ensuring adequate resources, budget and appropriate planning, communication and liaison across both internal teams and relevant external vendors.
You will:
- Work in conjunction with the Head of Business Process Management IT team and be a peer of HR & IT technical resources.
- Be responsible for assessing business requirements, and working across a broad set of resources to generate technical solutions. Core technologies will include Payroll (SDWorx), SAP SuccessFactors & other technologies in the HR esteate.
- Work closely with business customers and other members of Technology team to deliver optimal and prioritised business solutions
You will bring:
- Strong experience within a Technology Implementation lead, Project Manager or Business Analyst role operating in a banking or financial services environment.
- Substantial experience of HR payroll technology, or demonstable experience of other related technologies.
- Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors would be advantageous.

The (ITSD Cross-Product) Business Process Management IT team is responsible for a range of enterprise platforms used across our organisation. These include Procurement Technology, HR Technology and Digital Workflow Platforms.

Position Description
- Technology Delivery Management:
- Develop and execute comprehensive delivery plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Manage project budgets and resources effectively.
- Proactively raise new potential risks and issues, actively contributing to risk and issue logs, and contingency plans.
- Develop close working relationships with stakeholders across HR & wider technology teams to support clear communication and aid seamless delivery.
- Platform Integration Architecture:
- Work with external vendors & internal technology teams to support the design of necessary technical integrations.
- Document process (data) flows and technical specifications in a clear and detailed manner, aligned to business requirements.
- Own technology communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project requirements, timelines, status and issues.
- Liaise with key application stakeholders (Technology and Business) to ensure changes are progressed optimally and appropriately.
- Working with the business to confirm and document scope & goals, objectives & business justification, and justify the project objectives.
Perform additional duties within the BPM IT team, subject to skills & capacity.
