Role Summary
SMBC Group EMEA are looking for a Product Owner for our Cash Management Solutions department to join our team.
This role is part of a rapidly growing CMS Team with a large and strategic mandate under the Transaction Banking Programme, focused on transforming how we deliver Cash Management services across EMEA.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Leading the vision, strategy and delivery of digital platforms that support our Corporate clients across the region.
- Defining and owning the product roadmap for EMEA digital channels (e.g., portals, mobile interfaces).
- Acting as the voice of the Customer, ensuring that our digital solutions deliver value and usability.

This will be based within Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD), a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC and is growing rapidly as a Centre of Excellence for the bank’s universal banking business across EMEA. It provides a range of technology and operational support services, aligned to SMBC’s growth, innovation, and transformation strategies.
Position Description
As a Product Owner for Internet and Mobile Banking, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of digital platforms that enable corporate and institutional clients to access and manage their cash management services securely and efficiently.
You will work within the Cash Management Solutions (CMS) Team in ITSD, driving innovation and usability across web and mobile channels.
You will collaborate with regional business teams, compliance, operations and technology stakeholders and vendors, and act as the voice of the customer, ensuring that our digital solutions are intuitive, secure and value-driven.
Our role will enable you to:
- Define and own the product roadmap for Internet and Mobile Banking platforms serving Corporate clients.
- Align product strategy with business goals, client needs and global CMS initiatives.
- Lead delivery teams through backlog grooming, delivery planning and prioritisation.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features and enhancements across platforms.
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain product documentation, including roadmaps, release notes and functional specs.
- Ensure digital channels meet regulatory standards (e.g., PSD2, GDPR, AML/KYC).
- Partner with our Risk and Compliance teams to embed controls and audit capabilities.
- Monitor product performance, user feedback and analytics to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, personalisation and efficiency across digital touchpoints.
What will you bring to the role?
- Strong and demonstrable experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in Banking or Financial services.
- Strong understanding of Cash Management products, Corporate Banking workflows and Client needs.
- Experience with Internet and Mobile Banking platforms, including UX/UI best practices and security standards.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies, product lifecycle management and backlog prioritisation.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
- Exposure to Exposure to Open Banking, PSD2 and mobile authentication frameworks (desirable).
- Product Owner certification e.g., CSPO, SAFe PO/PM (desirable).
